It's Hard to Put Food on Your Family

There's a new man in the White House and it's painfully clear
That his grasp of our language is totally weird
The world is on edge, and there's plenty to fear
Each time he opens his mouth

He says, "More and more imports come from overseas
But we can't just make the pie higher
I know humans and fish can coexist peacefully
If we don't cave in to desire

"You can't take the high horse and then claim the low road
The past is over, I agree...."

But it's hard to put food on your family
When you're working for twelve hours a day
And there's no one believes in you
Nobody grieves for you
Nobody hears what you say
We all know the importance of bondage
Between mother and child in the home
But it's hard to put food on your family when you're always eating alone

I'm hopeful, very hopeful that he'll keep his words short
And not show us too much of his mind
If ever, if ever less really was more
This has to be one of those times

"You can't take the high horse and then claim the low road
The past is over, I agree...."

But it's hard to put food on your family
When you're working for twelve hours a day
And there's no one believes in you
Nobody grieves for you
Nobody hears what you say

There's a new man in the White House and it's easy to see
That our children isn't learning and neither is he
But the whole world is laughing and so are we
Each time he opens his mouth

(repeat bridge and chorus)
